Nashua Man Indicted For Strangling, Assaulting Woman: Court Roundup

Plus: Nashua man indicted on child rape charges; teen indicted on stabbing charges; Nashua, Raymond thieves indicted on new charges.

NASHUA, NH — A Hillsborough County grand jury indicted the following people recently.

Alvarez Fernando, 35, of Nutt Street in Nashua on two felony theft by unauthorized taking charges. He was accused of stealing an iPhone from another person and a tip jar at the Nashua Humane Society on Jan. 4, 2023, in Nashua. Previously, according to the indictment, Fernando was convicted on theft charges in Nashua District Court in August 2012 and in Hillsborough County in May 2017.

Jonathan P. Fote, 38, of Ash Street in Nashua on second-degree assault and three first-degree assault charges. He was accused of strangling, kicking an intimate partner in the head, causing a nasal fracture, and kicking her in the chest repeatedly, which led to broken ribs on Nov. 10, 2023, in Nashua.

Jaime Garcia, 29, of an unknown address, on a felony burglary charge, accused of burglarizing Caryn’s Country Convenience in Brookline on Oct. 8, 2022.

Nicholas Greenwood, 42, of Debra Avenue in Raymond on a felony theft by unauthorized taking charge. He was accused of stealing items from Kohl’s in Nashua on Sept. 24, 2023. Previously, according to the indictment, he was convicted on a stolen property charge in Rockingham County in July 2016 and theft in April 2022 in Candia District Court.

Updated: Joseph Grossi, 39, of Hampshire Drive in Nashua, was indicted on charges in October 2024. In October 2025, he pleaded guilty to a second-degree assault charge between Jan. 1, 2017, and July 31, 2020, in Nashua. He received a 10 to 20 year sentence, suspended for 10 years, with five years probation after that.

Colin Holbrook, 19, of Webster Street in Nashua on two first-degree assault charges. He was accused of stabbing another person in the shoulder and forehead on Oct. 9, 2023, in Nashua.

Tyler Humphrey, 30, of Ash Court in Nashua on a common nuisance count and controlled drug act; acts prohibited charge, a fentanyl and cocaine mix, both felonies. He was accused of keeping a home in Nashua, which was resorted to by drug-dependent people, and for the purpose of using drugs or keeping and selling drugs on Oct. 11, 2023.
