NASHUA, NH — A man, with a history of drug arrests, pleaded guilty in U.S. District Court Tuesday to fentanyl trafficking. Court documents presented by prosecutors against Spencer O. Katsohis, 27, of Nashua, showed him being in possession of the drug after a traffic stop by Nashua police on traffic violations in October 2018. Police seized 15 grams of the drug during the stop.

Katsohis was arrested and charged.

A few months later, police arrested Katsohis at home on another fentanyl possession charge as well as drug paraphernalia.

Katsohis will be sentenced in November, according to U.S. Attorney Scott Murray.

"Even small amounts of fentanyl can be lethal," Murray said. "Fentanyl traffickers have caused great harm to the health and safety of New Hampshire citizens. Through Operation S.O.S., we are working in close partnership with our local law enforcement colleagues to identify and prosecute those who are distributing this deadly drug in the Granite State."

Murray added that Katsohis' case was a part of the federal Operation Synthetic Opioid Surge program which is attempting to combat the large number of overdoses and deaths associated with fentanyl and other synthetic opioids.

Before these arrests, Katsohis was arrested on various drug charges in both November and December 2016, as part of Granite Hammer operations. He was arrested again in June 2017, after another Granite Hammer sweep.
