Nashua Wendy's Catches Fire

A fire at the Nashua Wendy's on Amherst Street caused "extensive damage."

NASHUA, NH — The Nashua Wendy's on Amherst Street caught fire Tuesday night, causing "extensive damage," according to a fire official. The restaurant is located at 631 Amherst St.

Nashua Deputy fire Chief George Walker said the fire broke out at about 11 p.m. when the restaurant was closed. A plow driver noticed the blaze and called for help, Walker said.

Firefighters quickly extinguished the fire, Walker said, though they were hampered by near-blizzard conditions at the time.

"Crews had to locate and shovel fire hydrant that were buried in snow," Walker said.

The cause of the fire is under investigation.
