Concord Wrestlers Beat Defending State Champions, Salem Blue Devils, 48-30

The Crimson Tide junior varsity wrestlers won 10 of 13 bouts at Salem High School on Wednesday night.

CONCORD, NH — Concord High School’s Crimson Tide varsity wrestlers have had a tough time with the Salem Blue Devils during the past few years.

The last time Concord beat Salem was in 2021.

The defending two-time state champions won a squeaker last year, in dramatic fashion, 38-31. In 2024, Salem won, 39-24. In 2023, it was the battle of the undefeated, with the Blue Devils winning again in a rout, 48-20. Salem also won in January 2022, 51-22.

But the Tide turned it around on Wednesday night, winning 48-30 at Salem.

Winning wrestlers for Concord included Biswas Darji in the 106, Dominic Schinella in the 126, Owen Gregg in the 132, Jaxon Carter in the 144, Leonardo Chung in the 157, Ryley Holt in 175, Maximus Chung in the 190, Isaiah Puckett in the 215, and Wayne Gutierrez Sakakeeny in the 285. For Salem, John Blocksidge won in the 113, Mykel Walters in the 120, Trevor O’Brien in the 138, Carter Lemire in the 150, and John Vargas in the 165.
