Salem Man Arrested On Second DUI Charge: Police Log

SALEM, NH — Benancio Esteban Diaz, 70, of Cranton Avenue in Groveland, Massachusetts, was arrested at 8:26 p.m. on April 1, 2025, on a driving after revocation or suspension charge. He was arrested after a motor vehicle stop on Red Roof Inn Lane and released on personal recognizance.

James Richard Douglas, 41, of Spring Street in Salem, was arrested at 1:02 a.m. on April 1 on a driving under the influence-second offense charge. A vehicle was stopped at South Broadway and Central streets, a driver was given a field sobriety test, and arrested. He was released on personal recognizance later.

Benjamin Francis Halpin, 39, of Artisan Drive in Salem, was arrested at 4:41 p.m. on March 31 on a driving after revocation or suspension charge. He was arrested after a motor vehicle stop on Tuscan Boulevard and released on $500 cash bail.

Timothy J. Miele, 32, of Stoney Brook Road in Methuen, MA, was arrested at 12:24 p.m. on March 31 on an indecent exposure and gross lewdness charge. He was arrested on a warrant and picked up at East Boston MA District Court on Meridan Street and brought back to Salem. He was released on personal recognizance.

Michael Roberts Rush, 32, of Central Street in Salem, was arrested at 11:33 a.m. on March 31 on an unlawful activities; litter control violation. He was arrested on a warrant and released on personal recognizance.

Matthew John Wilson, 30, of Gile Street in Haverhill, MA, was arrested at 12:59 a.m. on March 31 on driving after revocation or suspension-subsequent and disobeying an officer charges. He was arrested after a motor vehicle stop on South Broadway Street and released on personal recognizance.

Martin D. Hayden, 65, of North Main Street in Salem, was arrested at 8:14 p.m. on March 23 on a DUI charge. Police and fire and rescue teams were sent to Bluff Street for a two-vehicle accident with airbag deployment. One driver was arrested and released on personal recognizance to a sober party.

Candice Catherine Martin, 35, of Cluff Crossing Road in Salem, was arrested at 10:33 a.m. on March 23 on a criminal mischief charge. She was arrested on a warrant and released on personal recognizance.

Sarah A. Phacansiry, 32, of Old Rockingham Road in Salem, was arrested at 12:12 a.m. on March 22 on a DUI charge. Police were sent to a domestic disturbance on Old Rockingham Road after a woman approached a Coke plant detail officer about an incident. Police went to speak with the man and a woman was taken into custody. She was released on personal recognizance and released to a sober party.

Robert Shephard, 22, of South Broadway Street in Salem, was arrested at 7:57 p.m. on March 14 on a domestic violence-simple assault charge. He was arrested on a warrant on South Broadway Street and released on personal recognizance.
