Mom caught overdosing on camera, lottery scratch ticket winner arrested for shoplifting, a fatal crash, and other popular posts.

SALEM, NH — It was another busy year at the New Hampshire Patch.com network of news and community websites. Here are the most read stories for Salem this year.

The biggest story of the year was a local woman who was caught on camera overdosing while her danger was tugging at her, trying to wake her up. More than 32,000 people read the story with 2,100 sharing it on Facebook. A man allegedly in possession of heroin and crashing in Salem, killing a local woman, was also a popular story this year. A mother-daughter alleged shoplifting combo from Boston arrested in late December was read by thousands and shared on Facebook by nearly 5,000 people. A teen convicted of rape, and a Massachusetts woman who won a $1 million scratch ticket being arrested for shoplifting were also popular reads.
