Bus Blocks NJ Commuter Traffic, Causes Delays: Patch AM Traffic Digest

Good morning, New Jersey Patch readers! Here are the latest traffic updates that will impact your travel on Wednesday, May 4, 2022.

Traffic Updates

North Jersey

As of 7:28 a.m., there's a disabled vehicle on the Garden State Parkway northbound south of Exit 137 - NJ 28 in Cranford.

As of 7:16 a.m., there's a crash on the Garden State Parkway southbound Exit 141 - Vauxhall Road in Union. 1 right lane blocked.

As of 6:44 a.m., there's an overturned vehicle on US 22 eastbound Michigan Avenue in Union Township. 2 left lanes closed.

As of 6:14 a.m., there's traffic congestion on NJ 3 eastbound between NJ Turnpike - Eastern Spur in Secaucus and NJ 495 in North Bergen. Current travel time is 5-10 minutes.

As of 6:07 a.m., there are delays on the George Washington Bridge lower level eastbound New Jersey side in Fort Lee. The travel time is 15 minutes on I-95 from I-80 to the Alexander Hamilton Bridge.

As of 6:04 a.m., there are delays at the Holland Tunnel south tunnel eastbound NJ Side - Toll Plaza in Jersey City. Travel time to New York is 20 minutes from New Jersey Turnpike Exit 14C and 20 minutes from New Jersey 139 at Tonnelle Circle.

As of 5:57 a.m., there's a disabled bus at the Lincoln Tunnel center tunnel eastbound at mid-tunnel in Weehawken. 1 right lane blocked. The travel time is 20 minutes from NJ Turnpike Exit 16E to the New York side.

As of 5:47 a.m., there are downed wires on N 23 in both directions CR 695/Echo Lake Road in West Milford. All lanes closed.

Central Jersey

As of 7:14 a.m., there's a crash on Route 1 southbound north of Parsonage Road in Edison. 1 right lane closed.

As of 7:03 a.m., there's a crash on the Garden State Parkway express lanes northbound south of Exit 124 - Main Street in Sayreville.

As of 7 a.m., there's construction on US-1-BR eastbound from Lake Drive to E. Darrah Lane in Lawrence. Right shoulder closed until 3 p.m.

As of 5:53 a.m., there's a crash on US 1 southbound north of Ryders Lane in New Brunswick. 1 left lane closed.

As of 4:10 a.m., there's construction on NJ 72 in both directions between Shore Avenue and CR 607/Long Branch Boulevard in Ship Bottom. All lanes shift until 11:59 a.m. on May 20.

As of 4:09 a.m., there's construction on NJ 175 northbound from West Upper Ferry Road to NJ 29 in Ewing. All lanes closed and detoured until further notice.

South Jersey

As of 8:10 a.m., there's a crash on I-676 southbound north of Exit 4-Atlantic Avenue in Camden. Right shoulder closed.

As of 8:09 a.m., there's a crash on NJ 73 northbound CR 685 in Evesham. 1 left lane closed, 5-10 minute delay.

As of 6:45 a.m., there are minor delays on NJ 70 westbound from CR 627/Cooper Landing Road to CR 644/Grove Street/Haddonfield Road in Cherry Hill.

As of 6:20 a.m., there's heavy traffic on NJ 55 northbound from Exit 58 - Deptford Center Road to south of NJ 42 in Deptford Township.

As of 5:50 a.m., there are minor delays on NJ 73 northbound from CR 544/Evesham Road/Marlton Parkway in Evesham Township to I-295 in Mount Laurel.

As of 5:50 a.m., there's a crash investigation on NJ 42 northbound south of I-295 in Bellmawr. 3 left lanes and shoulder closed; 20-25 minute delay.

Transit Updates

North Jersey Coast Line and Northeast Corridor NJ Transit lines are under temporary schedule adjustments are in effect for the next six to eight weeks to accommodate major repair work to the Laurel Avenue Bridge in Holmdel. See here for updated timetables.

All other NJ Transit train lines are running on or close to schedule.

PATH train service to/from Newark will operate from Platform H from until later this afternoon to accommodate construction at Harrison Station.

PATH JSQ-33 delayed. Crew reported mechanical problems on a train at JSQ.

NJ Transit bus route 1, the 6:15 a.m. departure from Euclid Avenue in Newark to Ivy Hill Loop (Mt. Vernon Pl), will not operate due to operator availability.

NJ Transit bus route 21, the 6:55 a.m. arrival at Mississippi Ave Loop is currently delayed at Newark Penn Lanes due to an accident.

NJ Transit bus route 29, the 6:47 a.m. from Kirkpatrick Lane at Bloomfield Avenue to Broad Street at Hill Street will not operate today due to operator availability.

NJ Transit bus route 41, the 6:40 a.m. from Broad Street at Camp Street to R.R. place at Essex Avenue/S. Day Street will not operate today due to operator availability.

NJ Transit bus route 59, the 8:30 a.m. departure from Washington Park to 2nd at Chestnut in Roselle, will not operate due to operator availability.

NJ Transit bus route 112, the 6:45 a.m. departure from Terminal Avenue in Clark to Port Authority Bus Terminal in New York, will operate with a delay of 15 minutes following an earlier mechanical issue in the Lincoln Tunnel.

NJ Transit bus route 139, the 6:40 a.m. arrival into Port Authority Bus Terminal in New York, is delayed on Ticetown Road in Old Bridge due to a mechanical issue.

NJ Transit bus route 123, the 6:18 a.m. from Jersey City to PABT, is delayed due to mechanical issues.

NJ Transit bus route 165, the 7:05 a.m. arrival into PABT, is currently delayed due to mechanical issues.

NJ Weather
