One person was killed and six were injured in a shooting Saturday night at a Union Chick-fil-A, and the killer remains at large, authorities said Sunday.

"Our hearts go out to the victim’s loved ones, and we are hoping for the full recovery of those who were injured," Governor Mikie Sherrill said Sunday.

A fire forced four people and their pet from a Berkeley Township home on Friday, with one person being hospitalized due to a medical emergency, authorities said.

NJ Sheriff's Officer Dies In I-78 Motorcycle Crash, Authorities Say

A Union County Sheriff's officer died in a motorcycle crash on Interstate 78 on Friday, officials said.

Joseph DeVito, 28, of Kenilworth, died of the injuries he suffered in the crash that happened about 10:30 a.m. Friday, New Jersey State Police Sgt. Charles Marchan said.

Fire Leaves Howell Family, Pet Dog Homeless

A North Jersey police officer and his family were left homeless on Saturday after a fire destroyed their home, according to police and friends.

The fire on Dutch Valley Road was reported shortly before 2 p.m., Howell Township police said.

3 Dogs Kill Man In NJ After He Tries To Break Up Fight, Police Say

A man died after he was attacked by three dogs near a housing complex in Newark last weekend, authorities say.

Police responded to Georgia King Village near Cabinet Street at 8:26 p.m. on Saturday after getting a call about a dog attack.
