13+ Inches Dumped On Parts Of NJ After Storm Track Shift: See Totals
Tuesday's winter storm dropped several inches of snow on the Garden State during the morning commuting hours. See the latest:
NEW JERSEY - The winter storm that prompted school closures and state office delayed openings has tapered off in most of the state Tuesday afternoon, but how much snow did it leave in its path?
Sussex County saw the greatest amount of snowfall Tuesday with 13.2 inches reported in Montague as of 11 a.m., according to the National Weather Service. Hampton, Sparta and Pellettown followed suit with 13, 12 and 11 inches reported, respectively.

Snow Totals
Sussex County wasn’t the only region to see high snow totals as a result of the winter storm. Randolph in Morris County reported 10.3 inches as of 11 a.m.; Boonton, Ledgewood and Whippany all measured 6 inches of snowfall. Warren County reported 9.8 inches of snow in Blairstown, 8 inches in Stewartsville and 6.5 inches in Hackettstown; Somerset County reported 4 and 3 inches in Green Brook and Millstone.

Similarly, towns from Metuchen to Rockaway reported 4 inches while Edison, East Brunswick, Holmdel and Middletown saw 3 inches of snowfall. Freehold, Clarksburg and Ewing reported about 2 inches of snowfall.

Most of the state was forecast to see 1 to 1.5 inches of rainfall or liquid equivalent in snow into Tuesday, save for the shore, which was forecast to see a maximum of 2 inches.
Warnings & Watches
As of 1:30 p.m., Middlesex County is the only New Jersey still still under a winter storm warning. That warning is in effect through 6 p.m.
“Plan on slippery road conditions,” the National Weather Service said in a statement. “The hazardous conditions could impact the evening commute. The heavy snow load on trees could bring down scattered branches with power outages possible.”
Middlesex, Ocean, Burlington, Cape May, Atlantic, Monmouth counties are still under a coastal flood warning until 3 a.m. Wednesday.
Minor to moderate coastal flooding is in the forecast. Road closures, seas up to 9 feet high and property inundation aren’t off the table, the National Weather Service said.
“At this level, widespread roadway flooding occurs in coastal and bayside communities and along inland tidal waterways,” the National Weather Service said. “Many roads become impassable. Some damage to vulnerable structures may begin to occur.”
Road Closures & Travel
There are commercial vehicle restrictions on multiple New Jersey Interstate highways until further notice, including: I-78, I-80, I-195, I-280, I-287, I-295 (from Exit 60 to the Pennsylvania state line). The restriction doesn’t apply to the New Jersey Turnpike, the Garden State Parkway or the Atlantic City Expressway.
Newark Liberty International Airport has reported at least 218 cancellations in the last 24 hours, according to FlightAware.
Power Outages
As of 1:30 p.m., JCP&L is reporting 6,099 outages, mostly in Hunterdon and Warren counties. Another 498 were reported by PSE&G (down from 2,259 and 1,060 outages from this morning, respectively).
To report downed wires or power outages, JCP&L customers can call 1-888-LIGHTSS (1-888-544-4877). PSE&G customers can call 1-800-436-PSEG. Customers can also report outages by by logging into their PSE&G account online or by texting “OUT” to 4PSEG (47734).

Tuesday Night: Partly cloudy, with a low around 22. Northwest wind 10 to 15 mph, with gusts as high as 30 mph.
Wednesday: Sunny, with a high near 30. Northwest wind around 15 mph, with gusts as high as 30 mph.
Wednesday Night: Mostly clear, with a low around 19. Northwest wind 10 to 15 mph.
Thursday: A chance of snow after 1 p.m. Partly sunny, with a high near 35. West wind 5 to 10 mph becoming south in the afternoon. Chance of precipitation is 30 percent. Little or no snow accumulation expected.
Thursday Night: A chance of rain and snow before 1 a.m. Mostly cloudy, with a low around 27. Breezy. Chance of precipitation is 50 percent. New precipitation amounts of less than a tenth of an inch possible.
Central Jersey
Tuesday: Rain and snow before 3 p.m., then a slight chance of snow between 3 and 4 p.m. The snow could be heavy at times. High near 38. Breezy, with a north wind 10 to 20 mph becoming northwest in the afternoon. Winds could gust as high as 30 mph. Chance of precipitation is 100 percent. Total daytime snow accumulation of 3 to 7 inches possible.
Tuesday Night: Partly cloudy, with a low around 25. West wind 5 to 15 mph.
Wednesday: Sunny, with a high near 36. Northwest wind around 15 mph, with gusts as high as 30 mph.

South Jersey
Tuesday: Rain, snow, and sleet before 2 p.m., then a slight chance of rain between 2 and 3 p.m. High near 41. Breezy, with a north wind 15 to 25 mph becoming northwest in the afternoon. Winds could gust as high as 45 mph. Chance of precipitation is 100 percent. Total daytime snow and sleet accumulation of less than a half inch possible.

Wednesday: Mostly sunny, with a high near 40. Breezy, with a northwest wind 15 to 20 mph.
