Safeway Recalls Ready-To-Eat Salad Over Undeclared Allergens
The salads were distributed to retailers in Delaware, Maryland, New Jersey, New York, Pennsylvania and Virginia.

VINELAND, NJ — Safeway this week recalled more than 700 pounds of ready-to-eat salad because the products were misbranded and contained undeclared allergens, the U.S. Department of Agriculture’s Food Safety and Inspection Service announced Tuesday.
The recall affects a ready-to-eat chicken caesar salad produced on April 19, according to the announcement. The product contains anchovies, egg, and wheat, all of which are known allergens and are not declared on the product label.
The salads were distributed to retailers in Delaware, Maryland, New Jersey, New York, Pennsylvania and Virginia.

There have been no confirmed reports of reactions or illness, according to the recall.
Consumers who have purchased these products should not consume them. The products should be thrown away or returned to the place of purchase.
