NBC4 New York captured local students as they were getting ready for the March for Our Lives rally in Asbury Park on Saturday.

At least 15 New Jersey towns were supposed to have a "March For Our Lives" protests this weekend that organizers described as non-partisan student-led events to combat gun violence (see list below).

Organizers were expecting large crowds, and they were encouraging peple to take public transportation. In some marches, student ambassadors were in orange T-shirts to help those who need it.

"After hearing about the march in DC, I thought that attending the march would be great but that we would have a much greater impact by holding more sister marches around the country. Since there was not one in our area, I decided to organize one in Morristown to give people (especially students) an opportunity to voice their opinions," Bhimani told Patch.
