Award-Winning Officer Sworn Into Barnegat Police Department

Ptl. Amanda Sá recently graduated from the Camden County Police Academy, where she earned the High Academic Award.

BARNEGAT, NJ — The Barnegat Police Department swore in their newest officer, and she brings accolades and skill to the force.

Ptl. Amanda Sá was sworn in Monday, filling the vacancy left by recently retired Sgt. Bryan Nogowski.

Sá graduated from the Camden County Police Academy last week, where she received the High Academic Award.

She is a graduate of the Rutgers University School of Business where she earned a Bachelor's degree in finance. Sá outperformed a highly-competitive field of more than 260 applicants to earn her spot in Barnegat.

"Ptl. Sá is a smart, driven, and talented person entering a profession suffering from severe staffing and recruiting challenges. A candidate of her caliber literally could have gotten a job anywhere," said Chief Keith A. Germain.

"With more than 500 police departments in New Jersey to choose from, we're exceedingly fortunate that the best candidates continue to choose Barnegat," he said.

Sá began the 10-week field training program Monday.
