Early Morning Fire Damages Manahawkin Home: Officials
Several mutual aid agencies were called to help due to the nature and amount of fire, Stafford fire officials said.
BEACH HAVEN WEST, NJ — A home in the Coves section of Beach Haven West was damaged in an early morning fire, Stafford fire officials said.
The Stafford Township Fire Company responded to the home around 1:37 a.m. on Oct. 5, officials said.
"Due to the nature of the incident," Stafford Township EMS, Barnegat Fire Company and a FAST Team from Forked River Fire Company were also dispatched at the initial alarm, Stafford fire officials said.

An exterior fire had extended to the home's attic, fire officials said.
"Due to the amount of fire on arrival the incident commander special called above the first alarm an engine company from Eagleswood Fire Company," officials said.

Crews made an "aggressive interior attack," and managed extinguish and get the fire under control, officials said.
All units were on the scene for about three hours, officials said, and Stafford EMS provided rehab alongside. Waretown Fire Company also stood by for the duration to provide fire protection while Stafford units were tackling the blaze.
Officials did not share any information about the home's residents.
This fire is under investigation by the Stafford Township Bureau of Fire Prevention and the Ocean County Fire Marshal.
