Former LBI Cop Gets Probation For Misusing Computer Database

The former Long Beach Township cop can no longer work a public job in New Jersey.

LONG BEACH TOWNSHIP, NJ — A former Long Beach Township cop was sentence to a year of probation for misusing the department's law-enforcement database. Gerald W. Traynor agreed to a plea deal that prohibits him from future public employment in New Jersey.

Traynor, 53, used a secure law-enforcement computer for personal reasons, according to the Ocean County Prosecutor's Office. He accessed the personal info of two individuals. Chief Anthony Deely suspended Traynor when he was charged.

Traynor has also worked as an attorney. The Facebook page for Law Offices of Gerard W. Traynor, LLC says their practice includes real estate, land use, DWI, municipal court and wills.
