Pedestrian Struck, Badly Hurt In Stafford Labor Day Crash: Police
The 21-year-old was hit trying to cross Route 72 with a group of friends before 1 a.m. Monday, police said. She was flown to the hospital.
STAFFORD, NJ — A 21-year-old woman was badly injured after trying to cross Route 72 in Stafford early Monday morning, Stafford police said.
Alexa Paradiso, from Oakland, New Jersey, was attempting to cross into Beach Haven West at Marsha Drive around 12:48 a.m. Sept. 5, when she was struck by a 27-year-old Harvey Cedars resident traveling east in a 2019 Honda CRV, police said.
Paradiso received "extensive" head, external and internal injuries, police said. She was flown to Atlantic City Trauma Center, police said.

No charges have been filed against the driver, police said. The accident is currently under investigation by the Stafford Township Police Department’s Traffic Safety Bureau.
Route 72 eastbound was completely closed down for about an hour and 30 minutes, and traffic was diverted through Beach Haven West, police said.
