Candidate Debate Set In Basking Ridge For Committee Race

Republican incumbent Janice Fields and Democratic challenger Jessica Simpson-Cook will participate in a candidates' forum on Tuesday.

BASKING RIDGE, NJ — Ahead of the upcoming election, a Candidates Forum for the Bernards Township Committee race will be held on Tuesday, Oct. 18.

Republican incumbent Janice Fields and Democratic challenger Jessica Simpson-Cook will participate in the forum hosted by the League of Women Voters with members of the Ridge High School Empowermentfor Political Participation (REPP).

The forum will be held from 7 to 8 p.m. in the Performing Arts Center at Ridge High School in Basking Ridge.

Fields and Simpson-Cook are the two candidates running for the one open seat on the Township Committee.

Fields, a Republican, was previously elected to the township committee in 2019 and has served one, three-year term. During her tenure, she served one term as Bernards Township Mayor. See her full candidate profile here.
