See How Basking Ridge Voted In Local, County, Congressional Races 2022

Here's a look at how people in Basking Ridge voted in the township committee, school board, Somerset County, and District 7 races.

BASKING RIDGE, NJ — Election day has passed, and just taking a look at how Basking Ridge voted - the township is divided.

It's important to keep in mind these are the unofficial results for the 2022 general election and may not include absentee ballots, mail-in-votes, and early voting. Final certification of the results must be done by Nov. 26.

Despite that let's take a look at what has come in.

For the hotly contested and close New Jersey District 7, Bernards Township favored Democratic incumbent Malinowski with 5,617 votes over Republican Tom Kean Jr. with 5,419 votes. However, Kean Jr. did win overall after Malinowski conceded on Wednesday, according to unofficial results.

On the county level, while Democratic candidates running for Somerset County Sheriff, Clerk and Commissioner won, according to unofficial results, Basking Ridge favored the Republican candidates.

Incumbent Democrat Darrin Russo won overall for another term serving as Somerset County Sheriff. However, Basking Ridge favored Republican John Sheridan with 5,613 votes over Russo's 5,265.

The same goes for Somerset County Clerk, where incumbent Democrat Steve Peter won overall yet Basking Ridge favored Republican Suzanne Maeder with 5,603 votes over Peter's 4,979 votes.

The Board of County Commissioners also saw the same trend with incumbent Democrat Melanie Marano winning overall yet Basking Ridge favored Republican Amber Murad with 5,595 votes over Marano's 5,001 votes.

On the local level, incumbent Republican Janice Fields has won with 5,609 votes over Democrat Jessica Simpson-Cook with 5,313 votes for the one township committee seat, according to the unofficial results from the Somerset County Clerk. Keith Molinari, Nimish Amin, Csilla Csipak won over Janice Corrado, Guddia "Herpreet" Singh, and Erica Blackman for the three school board seats, according to the unofficial results.

Molinari had 5,245 votes, Amin had 5,093 votes and Csipak had 4,787 votes over Corrado with 4,408, Singh with 4,324, and Blackman with 4,519.
