BASKING RIDGE, NJ — The polls have closed and the unofficial results are in for a contested Bernards Township Committee and Board of Education race.
Incumbent Republican Janice Fields has won over Democrat Jessica Simpson-Cook for the one township committee seat, according to the unofficial results from the Somerset County Clerk.

Keith Molinari, Nimish Amin, Csilla Csipak won over Janice Corrado, Guddia "Herpreet" Singh, and Erica Blackmanfor the three school board seats, according to the unofficial results.

Township Committee
There are two candidates running for one open seat on the Township Committee.
- Janice Fields* - Republican - 5,609
- Jessica Simpson-Cook - Democrat - 5,313
Bernards Township Board of Education
Three-year (3 seats)
- Nimish Amin (For Bernards Children) - 5,093
- Csilla Csipak (For Bernards Children) - 4,787
- Keith Molinari (For Bernards Children) - 5,245
- Janice Corrado (Education For All) - 4,408
- Guddia "Herpreet" Singh (Education For All) * - 4,324
- Erica Blackman (Education For All) - 4,519
Unexpired, one-year (one seat)
- Lawrence Rascio (For Bernards Children) - 4,855
- Suzanne Schafer-Skalski (Education For All) * - 2,221
- Deborah E. Penner Smith (Special Education Teacher) - 2,562
100 percent of the districts have reported their results, according to the Somerset Couty Clerk.
However, these initial tallies do not represent the final election outcome. Mail-in ballots can still arrive by Nov. 14. A final certification of the results must be done by November 26.
