2 Drivers Injured In Berkeley 3-Car Crash: Cops

One driver failed to yield to oncoming traffic on Route 9 and collided with a car going the opposite way, police said.

Two drivers were injured in a three-car accident Sunday afternoon in Berkeley, police said. The crash took place by Bayville Manor, a retirement community, according to police.

A Chevy Malibu driver attempted to make a left turn from Route 9 Northbound onto Allard Road, failing to yield to oncoming traffic, police said of their preliminary investigation. At that time, another driver of a Toyota Corolla traveling southbound hit their passenger's side, police said. That caused the Corolla to lose control and swerve into a third vehicle in the northbound lanes, according to police.

The Malibu and Corolla drivers sustained minor injuries and were taken to Community Medical Center, police said. Both cars were towed from the scene, according to police. None of the drivers were named in the initial report.
