Berkeley Police To Teach Parents Drug Prevention at CRHS
The Berkeley Township Police Department will host "Hidden In Plain Sight" at Central Regional to combat increases in drug overdoses.

Learn the signs of drug addiction from people who have endured it. The Berkeley Township Police Department will host "Hidden in Plain Sight," a seminar for parents on how to detect potential drug use.
The lesson will take place at 6 p.m. Jan. 30 at Central Regional High School. People who have experience around drug addiction will teach parents what to look for to prevent potential tragedy, police said.
"To be blunt, our children and young adults are becoming addicted and they are dying," Berkeley police wrote on Facebook.

In 2018, 217 people in Ocean County died of drug overdose, which is a 13.6 percent increase from the 2017 total, according to New Jersey's Office of Attorney General.
"Whether it is through the endless pursuit of drug dealers or through our collaboration with our school systems, neighboring towns and agencies or through our community outreach and social media initiatives, we know our greatest weapon in this fight is strong interaction and cooperation with our residents," Berkeley police wrote.

Childcare will be available at the event, police said.
