This will also be the first board meeting since Superintendent Triantafillos Parlapanides suspended athletic director Vincent Casale on Feb. 2, for what he called an ”internal” personnel problem that does not involve students or coaches.
Rumors that police escorted Vincent Casale out of the high school building that morning are not true, Parlapanides said.

“He was not escorted out by police,” the superintendent said. “I escorted him out. We walked out together. It was an internal personnel issue between myself and Mr. Casale,” he has said.
Casale has been athletic director in the district for roughly a decade. He was suspended with pay, Parlapanides said.
Parlapanides said earlier this month he could not discuss the details of the suspension until the matter is discussed by the Board of Education at the Feb. 19 meeting. But the board will probably go into closed session, since it involves personnel.
“There’s still an investigation going on,” he has said. “The full board still has to hear it.”
Casale makes $134,843 a year, Board Secretary Kevin O’Shea said.
