UPDATE: Central Regional Football Game Rescheduled For Saturday

Hall of Fame ceremony gets underway at 6 p.m. tonight in high school gym lobby.

The Central Regional football game will be played tomorrow at 3 p.m. instead of tonight, due to inclement weather, Superintendent Triantafillos Parlapanides said.

Erin Fisher - Class of 2001

Fisher earned a varsity letter on the girls basketball team for all four years. She served as captain of the team both her junior and senior years and joined the ”1,000 Point Club” during her senior year. She was named offensive player of the year and earned a spot on the All B South team. She graduated from the University of Maryland with a bachelor’s degree in American studies. She went on to earn a master’s degree in education and policy from Harvard University. She is a middle school principal in Washington, DC.

Jay Gould - Class of 1997

Jay earned a varsity letter in football for three years as a fullback and a linebacker. He finished his career with 157 solo tackles, 12 sacks, one interception and a single-game school record of 19 solo tackles. He was captain of the 1996 team. His senior year he earned All-Division, All-County, All-Shore, All-State Group 3, All-Shore Scholar and Central Regional defensive Most Valuable Player in 2001.

He graduated from Rowan University and has built and sold several technology companies, including the award-winning Yashi. He is an Ernst & Young Entrepreneur of the Year finalist and an adviser to Rowan University.

Jessica Fritz - Class of 2009

Jessica was a starter for all three years she was on the varsity field hockey team and played the position of left wing. She set a number of records, including a New Jersey state best of 93 points in a single season during her junior year. She holds the record for most goals scored in a season, with 43, breaking the previous record of 39. She also holds the record for scoring 100 goals, the most in a career. She was player of the year for Ocean County for three years in a row.

She was also picked for All-County, All-Shore and All-State first teams. Jessica also played on the girls varsity basketball team as a forward and tied the record for most defensive rebounds in one game. Jessica was also a member of the girls track team where she did the high jump and ran the 200-meter dash.


Michael Clemente - Class of 2003 Honor Society graduate.

Mike earned 11 varsity letters during his time at Central, including three in football, four in baseball and four in basketball. He was captain of the basketball team for three years and ended his career as a member of the ”1,000 Point Club.” He also made the first and second team All-Conference four times and second team All-Shore once.

He graduated from Moravian College with majors in sociology and business. He started for three seasons on the basketball team and was named captain both junior and senior years. He became Moravian’s top men’s basketball assistant coach in 2008, where he spearheaded the recruiting process. He is now a business teacher and head boys basketball coach at Central Regional.

Mike Clemente

Clemente was hired in 1981 as an American history teacher and head boys basketball coach, positions he held until he retired in 2012. He was also an assistant football coach.

Clemente’s record was 361-275. His teams won six conference championships. He coached eight “1,000 Point Club” members and was named coach of the year five times. He was inducted into the New Jersey Hall of Fame in recognition of his coaching achievements. He has been sharing his experience with other Shore Conference teams since his retirement.

Mike Clemente and Michael Clemente are father and son.
