“We are very please to have reached an agreement with Dr Trian Parlapanidies to keep him at the head of the Central Regional family for at least the next 3 and a half years,” Board President Robert J. Everett Jr. said. ”We are very lucky to have the hardest working superintendent in Ocean County, and probably New Jersey. His many progressive ideas, leadership and enthusiasm has tremendously improved our school.”
“Dr Parlapanides is excited, as are we, to be able to continue our plans to cost effectively provide better and more diverse programs at our schools,” Everett added. ”We have plans for block scheduling, new academies, expansion of our international student program and many other upgrades that we are busy working on.”

The contract must still be approved by the Ocean County Schools Superintendent.
Parlapanides’ pay in his current contract was frozen for five years at $155,000. The new contract calls for a two percent raise the first and second years, to $157,080 and $160,221, respectively, and .50 percent the third year, to $161,000. There are no merit bonuses included in the new contract, Everett said.
“Just wanted to thank Mr. Robert Everett, President and Mrs. Tracey Mianulli, Vice President and all the Board of Education members for giving me the opportunity to stay at Central Regional for another 3 years!” Parlapanides wrote on his Facebook page.
“Pending County Superintendent approval! It’s an honor to serve such a great district with wonderful administrators, teachers, staff, parents, students, communities and Board Members! Starting my 25th year at Central Regional as a student, teacher, principal and superintendent. Let’s go Eagles!”
