But 2023 was a great year in Berkeley, with acres of land preserved permanently, people rescued from drowning and of course, Wunder Wiener came back.

Land Preservation
It was a great year for open space in Berkeley. Iconic spots, like the WOBM Pit and Blackbeard's Cave were purchased by the county, meaning that no construction will happen there. Plus, the acquisition of Cedar Creek Campground might even turn into a community pool, providing further recreation for Berkeley residents.
