Police found two men Jan. 26 around Beachwood's Sand Castle Diner who had been using counterfeit $100 bills, according to Lacey Township's police blotter. Lacey police said they responded to a report earlier that day of counterfeit bills being passed at Wawa on Taylor Lane and Route 9 South in Forked River.

John E. Dew, 46, of Toms River was charged with forgery and theft by deception, police said. Irwin F. Greene, 47, of Sayreville, was charged with forgery, according to police.

The subjects left Wawa before officers arrived at the store, police said. Shortly after, Berkeley police located their vehicle at the Sand Castle Diner, authorities said.
