Route 9 In Berkeley Reopens After Construction: Officials
The road was closed overnight for watermain installation, officials said.
BERKELEY, N.J. — Route 9 in Berkeley reopened Tuesday morning following overnight watermain installation, according to officials. The construction closed the road in both directions beginning at 9 p.m. Monday night, according to the New Jersey Department of Transportation.
J. F. Keily Company, Inc. closed and detoured Route 9/Atlantic City Boulevard at the intersection of Hickory Lane, NJDOT said. The Ocean County Sheriff's Office announced at 6:06 a.m. Tuesday that the road reopened.
The closure stemmed from an Aqua Water Company watermain installation, NJDOT said.
