Bloomfield Police: New Phone Scam In Town

BLOOMFIELD, NJ — Bloomfield police are warning residents to be aware of a new, phone-based scam taking place in town.

On Wednesday, the Bloomfield Police Department issued the following alert:

“There is a new scam going around Bloomfield... be advised, NOBODY from the Township will call and ask for your social security number or personal info over the phone. If you receive any calls of this nature, hang up and notify BPD immediately.”
