Missing Essex County Man Found; Disappeared On New Year’s Day
UPDATE: Police asked for the public's help locating a missing Essex County man. He's since been found safe.

ESSEX COUNTY, NJ — UPDATE: Newark authorities said Wednesday that Geraldo Cruz was spotted inside Newark Penn Station by a member of NJ Transit. He was unharmed and in good condition, police said. Our original article follows below.
Authorities are asking for the public’s help locating a missing man last seen on the McCarter Highway near Newark Penn Station in Essex County. According to the Newark Department of Public Safety, Geraldo Cruz, 61, of Newark, was reported missing from the 200-block of Broadway on New Year’s Day.
Cruz is 5 feet 6 inches and 120 pounds, and was last seen wearing a red jacket, gray sweat pants, and an olive-green baseball cap and black and white sneakers, police said. (See below photo)

“While police are actively searching for Mr. Cruz, we seek the public’s assistance in quickly locating him,” authorities stated.
