1. Brick Man Remembered For Love Of Family (patch.com) — Brick residents are mourning Terence "Terry" Whalen, a 31-year township resident remembered for his devotion to family and local youth sports. Whalen, who died Wednesday while working as Parsippany's tax collector, previously coached Brick Memorial Pop Warner football and was an avid fan of several professional and college teams.
   

2. Police camera chopped down at Brick gas station, man charged (wpst.com) — Brick residents are being reminded that damaging police equipment is a crime after a 31-year-old township man was charged with cutting down a Flock license plate-reading camera at the Exxon on Drum Point Road. Police stress the cameras don't issue tickets or make arrests, but instead help investigators track vehicles tied to crimes and keep the community safer.
   

3. Browning hat trick leads Neptune over Brick Memorial (nj.com subscription) — Brick Memorial's field hockey team fell 4-1 to Neptune in a road game played in Brick, despite outshooting their opponent and earning more penalty corners. Claire Browning's hat trick and an assist powered Neptune, while Callie Klockner scored Brick Memorial's lone goal and goalie Nadia Hopkins recorded six saves in the loss.
   

4. Nor'easter update: Coastal flooding, winds pound Jersey Shore (app.com) — Brick is among the Ocean County towns dealing with power outages as a nor'easter brings strong winds, heavy rain, and coastal flooding to the Jersey Shore this weekend. Thousands have already lost electricity, bridges and roads are seeing closures, and crews are working continuously to restore service and respond to downed lines and trees.
