• Minichino to resign from Brick Township Council (starnewsgroup.com) — Brick residents will soon see a change on their Township Council as longtime member Vince Minichino steps down on Sept. 29 for personal reasons, leaving a vacancy on the seven-member body. The council will follow New Jersey's Municipal Vacancy Law to choose a Democratic successor, while colleagues and residents reflect on Minichino's years of service and community involvement in Brick.
   

• Browning hat trick leads Neptune over Brick Memorial (nj.com subscription) — Brick sports fans saw Brick Memorial fall 4–1 to Neptune in a home matchup, despite outshooting their opponent and earning more penalty corners. Claire Browning powered Neptune's win with a hat trick and an assist, while Callie Klockner netted Brick Memorial's lone goal and goalie Nadia Hopkins turned away six shots in the Brick contest.
