Road Construction Causing Delays In Brick (Again)

Police are urging motorists to avoid the area if at all possible and warning them to expect delays.

BRICK, NJ — If you have to travel in the areas of Mantoloking or Drum Point roads Friday evening, Brick police are warning drivers to expect delays.

Ongoing construction, including the milling and paving of Mantoloking Road, is causing issues again for drivers trying to get through that area of town.

"Avoid Mantoloking and Drum Point roads if possible. Expect delays due to construction through 10 p.m. tonight (Friday)," a Nixle alert from the police department said.

Earlier in the week, the construction was causing headaches for residents who were trying to come west from the developments at the far east end of Drum Point Road in particular, turning commutes that were 15 to 20 minutes into drives of 40 minutes to an hour, residents said on social media.
