$1K Reward Offered In Halloween Hit-And-Run That Left 2 Injured In Somerset County
Two siblings, who were trick-or-treating, were left hospitalized as a result of the crash.

NORTH PLAINFIELD, NJ — Crime Stoppers of Somerset County, Inc. is offering a reward of up to $1,000 for information leading to the identification and arrest of those responsible for the hit and run of two siblings who were trick-or-treating on Halloween in North Plainfield, announced Somerset County Prosecutor John P. McDonald.
On Oct. 31 at 6:22 p.m., a 9-1-1 call reported a hit-and-run motor vehicle accident involving two pedestrians that were hit at the intersection of Mountain Avenue and Jeffries Place in North Plainfield while trick-or-treating, said McDonald. North Plainfield Patrol Officers and emergency medical personnel from the North Plainfield Fire Department found a 21-year-old woman and a seven-year-old boy who were both treated at the scene and then later taken to an area trauma center for serious non-life-threatening injuries, according to authorities.

An initial investigation by North Plainfield Detectives and officers from the Traffic Unit found that witnesses described the suspect vehicle as possibly a gold- or dark-colored sedan that left the scene at a high rate of speed traveling west on Mountain Avenue.

The investigation is currently ongoing.

"My granddaughter was just admitted to the rehabilitation hospital to begin her therapies. My grandson is home and recovering very well," Davis previously told Patch.
A Meal Train has since been set up to help the family to collect monetary donations.
