Shots Fired At Bridgewater Mall Still Unconfirmed, No Updates

Authorities continue to investigate the incident at the Bridgewater Commons Mall and are reviewing surveillance footage.

BRIDGEWATER, NJ — A report of gun shots fired at the Bridgewater Commons Mall on June 14 still remains unconfirmed a week later.

"There is no update on the investigation at this point in time," said Detective Jeanne Trillhaase, spokeswoman for the Somerset County Prosecutor's Office.

A report of a fight in progress was reported at 6:27 p.m. on June 14 in the Bridgewater Commons Mall food court. Bridgewater Mall security were able to separate the people involved, which continued onto the outside parking lot area of the mall, according to Somerset County Prosecutor Michael H. Robertson.

As Bridgewater officers were responding, a call of shots fired was reported to police. No arrests were made and no injuries were reported following the incident.

Detectives from the Somerset County Prosecutor's Office are in the process of reviewing surveillance footage from the mall.

"At this time, we cannot confirm that shots were fired," said Trillhaase previously.
