Chatham Boys' Tennis Favorite in Tournament of Champions
The top-seeded Cougars will face Millburn today in the semifinals.

The Chatham boys' tennis team will have a bull's-eye on its back when it begins play in an attempt to win its first state Tournament of Champions Wednesday.
The Cougars have drawn the No. 1 seed in the tournament and will face fourth-seeded Millburn today in the tournament's semifinals at Mercer County Park after the Millers knocked off Delbarton on Tuesday.
Chatham Head Coach Bruce Humphreys, who could not be reached for comment, has said that he puts a lot of confidence in his singles players, and for good reason—top player Patrick Monaghan has lost three matches all year, and second- and third-singles players Quentin Monaghan and Matt Romei are both undefeated.

The team will need all the help it can get against Millburn, which boasts a 24-6 record on the year and gutted out two wins in the state group semifinals and finals to reach the Tournament of Champions. First singles player Eric Cohen defeated Chase Savage, Delbarton's highly touted star, during Millburn's 4-1 victory Tuesday.
Doubles team Matt Evans and Andrew Coppola, along with fellow doubles team Chris Harvey and Chad Gildersleeve, will attempt to take some of the pressure off of the singles players today by taking a victory or two.
