The Louisiana-based chain is flocking from the South to South Jersey. Raising Cane's, which specializes in chicken tenders and Southern fare, recently opened its first two locations in the region — in Burlington and Marlton, with several more planned.

Cherry Hill's could come next, with a March 5 opening.

Tommy's Tavern + Tap

(2050 Route 70 W at Garden State Park)

The former site of Houlihan's will get new life when Tommy's expands its footprint. Tommy's in Cherry Hill doesn't have an opening date, but ownership told Patch last month that they're aiming for the end of March.

Tommy's Tavern prides itself on having something for everyone. Menu items range from pizza to flatbreads to sushi, along with beer, wine and cocktails.

The small chain has 10 locations, including eight in New Jersey.

Dave's Hot Chicken

(Ellisburg Circle Shopping Center, Route 70 and Kings Highway)

The hot chicken craze will soon reach Cherry Hill. Dave's — a fast-growing chain — specializes in jumbo, Nashville-style hot chicken sliders; house-made kale slaw; creamy mac and cheese; and seasoned french fries.

Cherry Hill's restaurant will operate at a pad site in the Ellisburg Shopping Center — adjacent to Dunkin Donuts along Kings Highway. Dave's Hot Chicken plans to open sometime this spring.
