CHERRY HILL, NJ — Tommy's Tavern + Tap expects to open its Cherry Hill restaurant in the coming months, ownership told Patch.

The emerging restaurant chain announced plans last summer to open in Cherry Hill. Tommy's will replace the former Houlihan's which abruptly closed early last year at 2050 Route 70.

Cherry Hill's restaurant doesn't have an opening date. But the Triple T Hospitality Group — the parent company of Tommy's Tavern — expects it to open around the end of March.

Tommy's Tavern prides itself on having something for everyone, whether patrons are making a family outing or getting drinks. Menu items range from pizza to flatbreads to sushi, along with beer, wine and cocktails.

The restaurants are named after founder Thomas Bonfiglio, who oversaw the chain's expansion during the pandemic as other industry members struggled. The restaurateur and New Jersey resident died in July 2022 at age 62, but his family continues to run the business and carry his legacy.

Bonfiglio founded the Triple T Hospitality Group, which owns all Tommy's restaurants, along with Tio Taco + Tequila Bar. The latter has four locations, including one in Marlton.

Tommy's Tavern currently has 10 locations, including eight in New Jersey. The first South Jersey location opened last summer in Mount Laurel.
