Camden County Recruiting Census Workers At Job Fair Friday

The U.S. Census Bureau continues to recruit part-time employees in Camden County to help get an accurate count for the upcoming Census.

CAMDEN COUNTY, NJ — Rep. Donald Norcross (D-1) will host a 2020 Census Job Fair in Camden County on Friday, officials announced. The U.S. Census Bureau continues to recruit part-time employees in Camden County who will help get an accurate count of the community for the coming Census.

“Census jobs are perfect for anyone looking to for part-time work or to supplement their income,” Camden County Freeholder Carmen Rodriguez, liaison to the Department of Health and Human Services, said. “Census taker positions offer flexible hours, evening and weekend opportunities, and a chance to help your community in a meaningful way.”

The job fair will take place at the Pennsauken Library, 5605 North Crescent Boulevard in Pennsauken, 2 p.m.

Ahead of the Census, the bureau is recruiting more than 400,000 part-time workers across the country, and as many as 3,000 in Camden County, to help collect census data in their communities.

The Bureau recently increased the minimum pay rate for census workers in Camden County to $20 an hour.

Most openings are for census taker positions. People in this role will conduct in-person follow-ups with households that have not completed their questionnaires in order to make sure they are counted.
