Magnet Fishers Pull Old Missile From River In Cherry Hill
The area was closed off as a bomb squad took the projectile away.

CHERRY HILL, NJ — Two magnet fishers found an old, military-style missile last weekend in the Cooper River.
They discovered it at about 12:30 p.m. around the Cuthbert Boulevard bridge in Cherry Hill. The duo used their magnet to pull it out and immediately notified police.
Authorities secured the area while a bomb squad safely transported the projectile. The bomb squad — part of the Camden County Sheriff's Department — will dispose of it in a controlled manner.

The area re-opened to the public at about 4 p.m.
It appears the projectile was submerged for a lengthy period of time, according to Cherry Hill police.

In a separate incident, an unexploded piece of ordnance (military ammunition or a bomb) found a week before in the tidal area of Sandy Hook's nude beach. Members of the public who find ordnance or similar devices should immediately alert authorities. Do not touch or move them.
Cherry Hill police reminded the public to alert them of any suspicious or hazardous items found in the township.
