The mayoral election drew 15,663 voters, while the council elections attracted 46,326 voters.

Bauerle, the council president, was the only incumbent to run for re-election. Council Vice President Sara Lipsett and Councilwoman Melinda Kane were also up for re-election, but they chose to run for other offices.

Kane left her office when she was appointed to the Camden County Board of Chosen Freeholders to replace Bill Moen earlier this year. On Tuesday night, she defeated Republican Keith Cybulski in a special election for the seat. Golkow was appointed to Kane's seat in April.

Lipsett chose to run for a spot on the Cherry Hill Fire District No. 13 Board of Commissioners alongside Kellie Montana. They ran unopposed. Appel ran for Lipsett’s seat on council.

Cohen, Lever and Litton ran on the Republican ticket, while Bowen ran as a Libertarian.
