Stadium Reopens With New Look Camden County Hopes Residents Will Enjoy
The makeover gives Camden County another "top-tier" location for athletics, a Camden County Commissioner said.

CAMDEN, NJ — The recently renovated Jack Curtis Stadium within Cooper River Park has made its official public debut.
The location now has a new six-lane track, a sodded field, three shade sail pavilions for shade and seating, water stations, tree plantings lighting enhancements and curbing and drainage upgrades, the county said.
"With the completion of this track, Cooper River Park now has two top-tier locations for athletics along with its world-renowned Boathouse used for rowing," said Camden County Commissioner Jeffrey Nash at an event on Thursday.

The $1.2 million project received priority "because they ensure that all of our residents have access to outdoor recreation," he added.
Local athletes who attended Thursday's event were awed by the track's new look.

"Our club is thrilled to have the opportunity to utilize such a beautiful, state-of-the-art track and field right here in our community," said Jill Chestnut Collins of the South Jersey Track & Field Club.
"These types of athletic facilities will benefit clubs such as ours and might even inspire others to begin their own journey with track and field," she continued.
The renovations are part of the $100 million plan that Camden County said in April will revitalize its parks, conservation areas and waterways without any new levies or taxes.
