Man Admits Selling Heroin To Overdose Victim For $10: Cops
Jimmy Flakes has admitted selling heroin to a Marlton man who subsequently died of an overdose in 2016.

A drug dealer from Camden County has admitted to his role in the death of a Marlton man he sold $10 worth of heroin to last year, Burlington County Prosecutor Scott Coffina announced.
Jimmy Flakes Jr., 41, of Lawnside, pleaded guilty to first-degree strict liability for a drug induced death in exchange for seven years in New Jersey state prison, according to the prosecutor’s office. Sentencing is scheduled for Jan. 11, 2019.
Police found 45-year-old Jeffrey Potter dead in his home as the result of a heroin overdose on Sept. 28, 2016, according to the prosecutor’s office. An investigation determined that Potter bought the heroin from Flakes for $10.

An autopsy performed by Burlington County Medical Examiner Dr. Ian Hood determined that the cause of death was opiate toxicity. Flakes was arrested last November and indicted in April.
The case against Flakes is being prosecuted by Assistant Prosecutor Jeremy M. Lackey and Assistant Prosecutor Jamie Hutchinson. It was investigated by the Evesham Township Police Department, with assistance from the Lawnside Police Department in Camden County. The lead investigator was Evesham Township Police Detective Christopher A. DeFrancesco.
