New Cinnaminson Municipal Public Defender Expected 'Soon': Official

The position has been vacant since June 14, according to a township official.

CINNAMINSON, NJ — A new municipal public defender for Cinnaminson Township will be appointed "very soon," the township's administrator, told Patch.

Township Administrator Eric J. Schubiger added that the position has been vacant since June 14.

He also noted that thus far "there have been no cases which required the services of a Public Defender" while the position has been vacant.

Typically, a municipal public defender in Cinnaminson Township serves a one-year term that expires on Dec. 31, according to the township code.

However, the person who is chosen for the position will only serve for the remainder of 2022, according to a public notice that advertised the township's need for a new public defender.
