Blood Drive To Honor Clark 'Designated Driver' Who Died In Crash

The blood drive will be on Feb. 23 to honor Michael Sot​, 20, of Clark and TCNJ student who was killed in a crash with an 'impaired driver.'

CLARK, NJ — A blood drive will be held on Feb. 23 to honor Michael Sot, 20 of Clark who was killed by another driver, in a head-on collision that hospitalized eight people, a crash that police say was allegedly caused by an impaired driver in December 2018.

Sot had chosen to be the designated driver that night to help his fellow The College of New Jersey classmates and Phi Kappa Psi fraternity members get home safe. (Read more: Clark 'Designated Driver' Mourned After Crash In Awful Irony)

The Garwood Knights of Columbus are hosting the blood drive honoring Sot on Saturday, Feb. 23 from 9:30 a.m. to 3 p.m. at Church of St. Anne in the Bethlehem Room, 325 2nd Ave., in Garwood.

Sot was a "loving, smart, responsible, always caring son, brother, cousin, nephew, grandson, and friend to all who knew him."

Sot was a 2017 Arthur L Johnson High School honors graduate and lifelong resident of Clark. He was a sophomore at The College of New Jersey majoring in math and joined the Phi Kappa Psi fraternity.
