Last Minute Mother's Day Gift Ideas

Last minute Mother's Day gifts that don't look last minute.

Yikes! Mother’s Day is tomorrow and it isn’t too late to wow the mom in your life with some very cool gifts that don’t necessarily look last minute. If you don’t necessarily want to give her a necklace made out of macaroni, here are a couple suggestions.

Photography

The only thing better than making memories is capturing them. Our babies grow up so fast. There is nothing sadder than when, years down the road, we have nothing to prove how adorable our kids once were.  Purchasing a photo session for mom et al. is a meaningful, lasting way to go. Chiarascuro Photography has a deal going on between now and May 31, 2011. $100 off a 60-minute session and $50 off a 30-minute session.

Veronica Chiarascuro has photographed some pretty famous folks, including Jon Bon Jovi, and is still extremely reasonably priced. Also, she comes to you. The headshot she took of me in my photo picture above, she took with a baby and a dirty diaper on my lap on my front porch. Just saying.

Dining

I’ve heard awesome things about Pairings in Cranford. Their Mother’s Day brunch includes a new brunch menu with mango stuffed french toast & coconut crunch or a gruyere rolled omelet & applewood smoked bacon. Save room for dessert!

Clothes

I’m a big Lands' End girl. I love Lands' End because they aren’t too flashy or trendy and the quality is awesome. There is a Lands' End store right in the Sears on Route 22 and Terrill Road. One wardrobe must is their line of cardigans. They come in bright, spring colors, and are cotton fine-gauge. I tend to wear them all year round.

Their canvas anchor tote is also adorable and nautical themes are pretty hot right now. From a mommy point of view, this bag is big enough to double as a diaper bag as well and it is a lot cooler looking.
