Car Thefts, Burglaries Rise In Clark

Breaking: Clark Police are warning residents to lock their doors and not leave valuables in sight. One suspect was caught on camera.

CLARK, NJ — Car thefts and burglaries are on the rise throughout Clark during January and police are reminding residents to lock their doors and not leave valuables in sight.

All of the thefts have occurred during the overnight and early morning hours.

"Please make sure that you lock your vehicles and do not leave any valuables with in sight," Clark Police reported. "Also do not leave your vehicles running unattended during the early morning hours."

A car burglar was recently caught on camera on Jan. 27 at 5:20 a.m. on Lincoln Boulevard.

The suspect is a white male with glasses and curly blond hair wearing a grey hooded sweatshirt. He was scared off by the vehicle's owner and no property was taken, according to police.

The suspect was also seen on other homes' security video walking onto the home's driveways.

Anyone with any information regarding this incident is asked to contact Det. Alex Yanes at 732 388 3434.

"Please be assured that we are working diligently to investigate and arrest the individual(s) responsible for these incidents," police said.
