This past weekend was a busy one for the Arthur L. Johnson Crusaders Marching Band. First up, it was the Tournament of Bands State Championship in Toms River New Jersey. On a cool and sunny afternoon, band director Mr. Justin Romano led the band to the field where they performed their show “Fathoms.” It was met with great excitement when they found out that they had achieved a 3rd place finish in the Group 1 open finals at the event. Next, it was on to the Section Championships in West Essex. On a chilly and rainy day, the Crusaders Marching Band would be undeterred. They took the field and performed their hearts out. The end result was a 1st place finish and they are now proud to be the Tournament of Bands Section 10 Champions. It’s now on to the Atlantic Coast Championships in Hershey Park, Pennsylvania. There they will compete against 15 other bands, where they hope to bring back the coveted ACC Championship.
