Clark To Update Police, Fire Fleet with New Vehicles
Four new Ford cars added to Police Department and one Chevrolet truck given to fire squad.

The Clark Town Council approved the purchase for four new police vehicles and one new vehicle for the fire department to keep "the fleet up to date," said Clark Mayor Sal Bonaccorso.
Bonaccorso said several vehicles needed repair so the town opted to purchase brand new vehicles, rather than attempting to fix the old ones.
A 2012 Chevrolet Tahoe will be bought for the Clark Volunteer Fire Department for $39,400 so the company will be mobile during heavy storms and snow.

Four 2013 Ford Public Utility Interceptors will be bought for the Clark Police Department for $112,160. The cars have been redesigned to adapt to public safety needs, including weather related precautions.
"We are trying to keep our community as safe as possible," Bonaccorso said. "We are buying what we believe we need."

Bonaccorso also announced that four police officers will be added to the squad at the Jan. 3 Reorganization Meeting. The men will be filling in the place of four retired police officers.
The officers who are joining the staff have been laid off from other communities, and Bonaccorso said he is proud to see them get back to work.
