GARWOOD FAMILY CENTER Y OFFERS SCHOOL AGE COMPLEMENTS TO HELP CHILDREN LEARN, GROW AND THRIVE

The Westfield Area Y is pleased to announce the Garwood Family Center Y located at 500 East Street in Garwood provides before and after school programs for students in grades K-5 who attend Lincoln School in Garwood. Busing is included. The center has been recently renovated and features several classrooms, a multipurpose room, a large outdoor field, two playgrounds for children to enjoy and easy parking for pick-up.

The School Age Complement programs at the Garwood Family Center Y provides fun, active and nurturing programs in a safe environment to give parents peace-of-mind in the before and after school hours that include sports, recreation and arts & crafts. A healthy snack is provided. Students are grouped by grade in classrooms for structured learning using Creative Curriculum® and homework time for older students. School Age Complement programs also incorporate the Healthy U program which teaches children that eating healthy and being physically active can be fun. They are available 2, 3, 4 or 5 days per week until 6:00pm. Extended care is available until 6:30pm. Before school care is available beginning at 7:00am until the start of the school day.

Working parents especially appreciate the availability of a convenient inclement weather plan and school holiday vacation fun club. Y staff is caring and dedicated to meet or exceed state licensing requirements to meet Y standards for certifications and professional development.
