Announces 2014 Scholarship Awards

The Gregg F. Clyne Memorial Foundation, Inc., a 501 (c) 3 non-profit organization recently granted scholarship awards to Matthew Cohen (Cranford High School) and Victoria Guerriero (Westfield High School).   Family and friends of Mr. Clyne established the Foundation in 2008 to honor his memory and his wish to provide educational opportunities for others.  Mr. Clyne died in August 2006 at the age of 27 after battling a rare form of cancer (adrenal cortical carcinoma) for four years.  Since the Foundation’s inception, scholarship awards have been granted to twelve (12) local area high school students matriculating at the University of Delaware.

A yearly gathering is held at the Clyne’s home in Westfield for the scholarship recipients (past and present) prior to the students beginning their fall semester at the University of Delaware.  The students are eager to meet one another to share their UDel stories and experiences.  This is especially helpful to the newly awarded students who are preparing to embark on the next stage of their lives… college.   It is wonderful to see them conversing, laughing and enjoying their time together.
