NEW GREATER WESTFIELD MENTAL HEALTH COALITION LAUNCHED

Stress, anxiety and depression are conditions that occur to all of us at various times. Yet, there is a stigma attached to discussing mental health.

In recognition of Mental Health Month, the Westfield Area Y is proud to announce the formation of Here to Help (H2H), a community-based coalition with a mission of helping improve community awareness and understanding of mental health issues through education, basic skills training and resource information and help break down barriers that prevent people from seeking care.

Here 2 Help coalition members include: the Westfield United Fund; Youth & Family Counseling Service; Contact We Care; Prevention Links; UCPC Behavioral Healthcare; Westfield Public Health; Westfield Senior Housing; the Westfield Public Schools Guidance Department as well as clergy members and other volunteers.
